Understanding Your Login Credentials
You must use the correct format for your username and password to log in successfully.
- Username: This is always your Student ID Number. You can find this number on your schedule or report card. It is typically a 9 or 10-digit number. Do not add “@fultonschools.org” to the end. Just use the number.
- Default Password: If you have never changed your password, the system defaults to your birthdate. You must format this as MMDDYYYY.
- Example: If your birthday is February 4, 2010, your password is 02042010.
- Custom Password: If you changed your password previously, you must use that new password. The birthdate format will no longer work.
Navigating the Dashboard
Once you log in, you will see the My Apps screen. This dashboard displays icons for every program the district assigns to you.
- Single Sign-On (SSO): most apps on this dashboard use SSO. This means you click the icon, and the system logs you in automatically. You do not need to type your password again.
- Folders: Teachers or administrators might group apps into folders. Click a folder to see the apps inside.
- Search: Use the Search bar at the top of the page if you cannot find a specific app. Type the name of the program, like Canvas or iReady, and the system will filter the icons for you.
Managing Your Account
You have control over specific settings within the platform.
- Edit Mode: You can reorganize your dashboard. Click the Edit Mode button (usually a pencil icon) to move icons around. You can create your own folders to organize apps by subject, like “Math” or “Science.”
- Profile Settings: Click your Avatar in the top right corner. You can check your login history here. This helps you see if anyone else accessed your account.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
You might face problems logging in. Try these fixes before you contact support.
- QuickCard Issues: Younger students often use a QuickCard (QR code) to log in. If your camera does not read the card, ensure the room has enough light. Wipe the camera lens clean. If the card is ripped or crinkled, ask your teacher for a new printout.
- “Account Disabled” Error: This happens if you try the wrong password too many times. You must wait 15 to 30 minutes for the system to unlock your account automatically.
- Browser Extension: Some apps require the ClassLink OneClick Extension. If an app fails to load, look for a prompt at the top of your browser asking you to install this extension. Click Install and then refresh the page visit portal.id.cps.edu.
- Pop-Up Blockers: Some resources open in a new window. If you click an app and nothing happens, check your address bar for a Pop-up blocked icon. Click it and select Always allow pop-ups from this site.
Getting Help
You should contact the proper support channels if you still cannot log in.
- At School: Ask your homeroom teacher or the school Media Specialist. They can reset your password instantly.
- At Home: You can call the FCS Remote Learning Hotline or the IT Service Desk. Have your Student ID ready before you call. They will verify your identity before they reset any account details.
Security Best Practices
You are responsible for your account security.
- Log Out: Always click Sign Out when you finish your work, especially on school computers. Closing the laptop lid does not log you out.
- Privacy: Do not share your password with friends. Teachers will never ask for your password.
- Updates: Keep your ClassLink app updated on your personal devices. Old versions often crash or fail to load specific icons.
Accessing Infinite Campus
You view grades and schedules through Infinite Campus, which lives inside ClassLink.
- Log in to the Launchpad.
- Find the green icon labeled Campus Student.
- Click the icon.
- The system will direct you to your grade book.
You do not need a separate login for this. If the icon is missing, contact your school administration immediately to ensure your enrollment status is active.
